sorry about your thread, MIR

other than the bad Delta Rho Beta Lambda Omega Alpha jokes it's great. I feel really bad for stunted though, I know what he's doing and I could mentor him but he doesn't want it.

my "kappa/cap a" joke was the best of them but then again i thought it up all by myself and i'm pretty hilarious so that makes sense.

Makes you wonder just how many black people this fraternity has murdered.

Shame. They couldn't even make it 159 years without a single racist incident with national coverage. so close, too.

Fraternity does stupid, racist crap and is immediately kicked off campus. Yeah, it's super mumped up but it seems like this story should be over fairly quickly.

They should allow (force?) the main singer to remain in the SAE house, in the role of Chad, Mad Real World style.

I can't wait for the squirming apology saying he made a mistake and isn't racist.

If I was a betting man... and I think I'm on record for being just that, I'd put pretty much my entire bankroll on the fact that the KSU chapter HAS in fact sung that song quite a few times.  The difference being, they didn't do it in mixed company and allow it to be recorded on a cell phone.

Racism aside, it is such a weird thing to take so much pride in.  I mean, are there not better accomplishments or values to celebrate via song?

there have been black SAE's at k-state though. doesn't mean it hasn't been sung, but still.

I can't speak for them, however my belief is that a LOT of the crap that still goes on that shouldn't (regardless of the fraternity SAE/ATO/DU/etc) is done in the name of "tradition".  Doesn't make it right, and I'm certainly not justifying it... just stating "why" it still goes on.

Sorry. Didn't mean to associate that specific chapter with it. The whole of SAE was founded today 159 years ago was the point, not ksu specifically

That is absolutely a song sung nationally, not in every single chapter but it wasn't invented at OU. The climate in which the fraternity was founded has its fingerprints all over this song. Did you guys miss the reddit from UT, the stars and bars hanging inside the front door of the OSU SAE house this morning, or my first hand account of the SAE house at K-State? BTW if any of you are SAEs build a rough ridin' sidewalk in front og your house already, Christ.

I mean, founded in Alabama in the 1850s.

I am pretty sure they have a sidewalk in front of their house at kstate, to their defense.

Rolling stone had an article listing the top 10 worst fraternities in the country and 2 of the top 5 were SAE houses.  Apparently they are as good at raping and hazing as they are at being racist.

They also have to be the last major national fraternity to formally disavow hazing and to change their pledge process.

I checked Google Maps. It looks like there are sidewalks on both College Heights and Denison.

PLUS, they are right across the street from the eighth wonder of the world: PHASE IV!!! So lucky!
