hey dax or anyone else who knows about athletic dept revenues...what kind of drop could we expect going from the Big 12 to the Mountain West?  Is it as crippling as its made out to be (unable to pay to keep coaches, ect)?

If we can actually collect the money from the other teams leaving, it would be about $20 million. I would think that we could just give this to Frank on the condition that he has to pay it back if he ever decides to leave. He would be a fool not to take it. I mean who would turn down an interest-free loan, right? Maybe he spends it and can no longer afford to leave. That's the only way I see us keeping him.

Mountain West has it's own TV network, and it's going to become a BCS conference.  I don't think it will be that bad, depending on who we can drag into it with us.

Well according to the Bleacher Report article/slide show Winters posted, Baylor and Houston are going to the MWC and the Kansas schools will be independent for 2+ years unless the SEC comes calling.

Being unable to pay or keep coaches would be maintaining the status quo.

Maybe Currie knew something when he gave that extension to Brad Hill.

d00ds, I hate to say it, but goEMAW did to KSUFans what the Big 10/PAC-10 are doing to Kazzu and its fans.

Status quo numbers projected forward (using MWC TV payout) . . . it's a about a $6 million dollar hit for K-State.

Oh yeah . . . now I am convinced the final 1%, Texas, CU, A&M, Tech, OU and OSU really are going to the Pac-10.

Plan A:  Basketball centric with decent to good football . . . Assuming that the Big 10 blows up the Big East, and also takes Maryland.   Than Iowa State, K-State, KU and MU need to be on the horn with WV, Pitt, Syracuse/UConn (more on that in a moment), Louisville, and Cincinnati and a TBD.   IMO Syracuse or UConn will be Maryland's replacement in the ACC.   Anybody thinking otherwise doesn't understand the finances of college athletics.   IMO Duke and UNC say not no, but hell no to Kansas in the ACC . . .  in addition ACC schools already travel up to BC, so UConn or Syracuse are right in sync with their travel coordinators, on the Atlantic Coast traveling North to South and vice versa is much easier than traveling East to West.

Plan B the far worse option:  Utah, BYU and TCU break way from MWC . . .  those schools together with Boise State, K-State, ku, mu, Iowa State, Baylor, Houston and New Mexico form a new conference entirely.

Plan C:  Immediately blackmail the SEC commish . . . ask Lew Perkins for advice on this.

Plan D:  Seriously contemplate making Plan C, Plan A.

have to hope for complete chaos and more expansion from the big 10...trickle down effect could leave BCS teams without a home in the ACC or Big East and then cobble a BCS league together with East/West Divisions.  Also, keep the Big 12 name and conference in existence and collect payout checks.

AKA Plan E

Oh, and on one thing I believe Keitzman actually did research correctly and actually did understand .  .  Big 12 is a Delaware Corp .  .  . Delaware Corp's can be dissolved by a simple majority barring an existing agreement on dissolution.

Has BSAC had a chance to cofirm if BITB's "Delaware" problem is legit?

Why could they not do this and keep the Big 12 moniker?  Would this not buy us another 2 years of BCS affiliation and get us paid from the defectors.  We could invite anyone else who gets bumped (ie Big East leftovers when that thing blows up) over the next 4 years to join as well.  Perhaps by 2014, we'll have constructed a good enough conference to resign with BCS?   :dunno:

Yosh . . . we get the Delaware Corp/Dissolution issue answered, and then you'll have the answer to that question.  It would be 7 for the panty waist pussies and 5 for the Elites.
