Yeah, it seems like one of the least likely scenarios is Texas going to the SEC. Those maps were made by ESPN fanboys. And as long as we have Texas in our deal with the Pac 10 we're fine.

We better go find some California recruiters, because our Texas recruits would be GONE in this scenario. One we won't play in Texas but one time to a lesser school and Texas would be opening up their state to LSU, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, etc. My opinion is Cats and Hawks would struggle in this conference. We would be the dregs.

I got news for ya: Every team recruits, or at least attempts to recruit Texas. It's not like UT moving to the SEC would suddenly alert LSU, Bama, UF, etc that there are tons of good football players in the state if Texas. If anything, the exposure would help us recruit the west coast better, we're not going to be losing our recruiting contacts in Texas because of it. And as far as only one game per year in Texas, that's why you do things like schedule a noncon in San Antonio, an area we really haven't recruited a whole lot, as far as I can remember.

We at least have (some) basketball respect and the chance to come in a package deal with KU. But yeah, it's definitely a bad situation if this ends up happening. I think that Baylor and ISU are more screwed than us, but that's not saying much. We also have a chance of moving to a new Mountain West on steroids that could possibly gain BCS status, ISU doesn't. There's absolutely nowhere for them to go.

Not sure about the big east...probably conference USA or something, which may surpass the big east if it picks up a few superconference rejects along with the MWC. Big East has the potential to get booted out of the BCS anyway. They are a better fit for KU (only care about basketball).

Yeah, this is kinda what I was trying to say. IF the worst happens (Big 10, SEC and Pac 10 pick the Big 12 apart) I don't think the Big East will compete with the expanding football conferences and will just stick to basketball. The remaining Big East football schools will get absorbed by the ACC, SEC & BIG 10. The Big 12 leftovers (Baylor, Tech, K-State, KU, ISU & maybe OSU will join with higher tier mid-majors and create their own "superconference(s)"
