The Big 12 10 didn't have their TV contract completed until last week.   

First off, I agree with you that ND was never coming.  However, saying we couldn't go get some ACC teams this summer because our TV deal wasn't done is false.  The TV deal was basically done back in April.  They waited this long to finalize it just so they could get the process down of selecting games between Fox, ESPN/ABC, LHN, FSN, and F/X.  It's not a coincidence that the TV contract got finalized within a week of them completing the first round of TV selections under the new agreement and Fox accidentally leaking their Tier 1 schedule for the whole year.  It appears all sides were on a mutual hold over the summer with the majority of the contract done just to see how the first go round under the new agreement worked and to make any tweeks as necessary to the selection process.

Making sure the process was tweeked for maximum exposure was important.   But highly engaged with BIG Fox was important.

Come on, in the talks with Notre Dame that had to come up within the existing ACC schools, and Clemson and FSU, based on what is being reported right now, apparently agreed to it.   For what, another million a year?   Come on man, something ain't right, or they never had any intention of leaving the ACC.

It has no bearing in the upcoming 4-team playoff.  None. Zip. Zero.

The Big 12 is the only conference without a CCG. It would not take much for a requirement be put into the new playoff system that only winners of CCG are eligible for the 4 team play off.

That will never happen.  Everyone EVERYONE realizes that the winner of a true round robin is a champion is the truest sense of the word.

They were able to pass the 50 million buyout by allowing Pitt and Syracuse to vote as ACC members....without them the 50 million buyout gets shot down just like the 34 million buyout did.

Agreed.  I think Louisville is somewhere above these schools and below OU and UT.  Maybe they don't attract TVs.  I get denying them for that reason.  But, looking at athletics in a vacuum, Louisville and its 70mil athletics budget is an attractive school (geographically as well).

I wouldnt call Louisville Upper Middle Class, I'd say they are a little below WV and you have to remember that 10 years ago they were playing in conference USA.

They remind me of the new money people that just moved in down the street and added a huge addition to their house and just bought a real nice porsche. They are nice people but the rest of the neighborhood snickers under their breath at them and wonders how they can afford it all and how long it will last. Even the nice old lady who lives 2 houses down has started accusing them of laundering drug money though a car wash.

No idea what you're talking about.  Top10 basketbal program.  Football program is on par with about half of the Big XII.  BigXII schools shouldn't be snickering under their breath at a school like UL.

Again, I have no idea what you're talking about.  I haven't heard a single K-State (non-Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)) fan snicker about TCU's or WVU's football programs.  In fact, most I've talked to have both road games chalked up as losses.

Louisville wouldn't help, but they wouldn't hurt.  Truthfully, they'd raise the profile of almost every single non-revenue sport and bookend the Ohio River Valley with WVU and help add a potential geographic rival with Iowa State.

They're a level addition.

In the grand history of college football, only these schools can say they're "old money", everybody else that you think that should be on the list are more "Johnny Come Latelys" than you think:

Michigan
Ohio State

There's lots of schools on the fringes of that list, but many had early years that weren't that glorious, or protracted periods of not doing much of anything.
