Over the past year you keep hearing from multiple if not all of the Big 12 ADs that they love the round robin. DeLoss mentions it in every interview.

 I wonder if they would just take Florida State at 11, do a round robin Big 10 like schedule (pre nebraska). That would give them the option to wait and see who emerges at #12 for a few years, allows them to take ND now in olympic sports with a FB games vs B12 teams guarantee and leverage that into full membership in say 3-6 years, and do 6 team divisions for the other sports.

Of course you are missing out on the Big 12 title game revenue but maybe ND in the other sports makes up for that? I dont think its ideal at all, i'd rather just do FSU and GT/Clemson/Miami. But it maybe what they're thinking

To discount Clemson is absurd, they only thing they care about in South Carolina is college sports.   They have significant alumni presence in 2 major metro areas;  Atlanta and Charlotte.   Miami isn't nearly they draw they used to be and their President likes it like that.

Are none of you listening to Dlew? Why do you care if K-State makes 500K more per year, I want to play Clemson in football because it will be fun.

Should care as long as we're putting the extra $ to good use (renovating/rebuilding everything in the football building, putting flat screens (sound systems, touch screens, finger print id and what ever other techy crap 18 year old kids want) on ever wall/floor/locker, paying football and men's basketball coaches more, etc.).  If we're flushing it down the non-revenue sport toilet, yeah who cares.

Playing Clemson if football would be fun.  Playing UM in football (provided they continue playing football) would just be more fun imo, and more people who don't care about KSU/CU/UM would watch it on tv.

What isn’t clear is if the expansion committee will vote to extend invitations to FSU and Clemson or wait until TCU and WVU become voting members of the Big 12.

More than likely TCU and WVU will give their advice and consent to extending the invitations and Terry Don Phillips will finally have something to share with Chairman Wilkins.

Before invitations can be formally extended both Clemson and Florida State must apply to the Big 12 for membership.

I'm probably alone here, but I would rather take FSU and Miami than FSU and Clemson. Taking both FSU and Miami delivers a terrific rivalry with national interest to the Big 12, and that kind of thing is more valuable to me than gaining a portion of the South Carolina television market.

You should be alone.  Miami doesn't have any fans.  We played 13 games last year. Do you want to guess which one of those 13 games had the smallest crowd?

Oh, really. . . Do you really want to see the FSU/Miami game go away? Do you expect FSU to continue to play both Florida and Miami every season when they are in the Big 12? Rivalry games are fun, and college sports really aren't that interesting without them. Picking up the FSU/Miami game would be huge. This series has produced 3 of the 5 highest rated college football games on ESPN. The 2006 game was the most watched game in ESPN history. Any time you have a chance to pick up FSU and Miami together, you take it. If we still want Clemson, we can always expand to 14 and add somebody else.

I DGAF about that game and I couldn't even tell you the last time I watched it or even cared enough to check the score. Miami was a fun one-night stand (which includes this year's morning-after bang) but I'd rather bone down on Clemson and their awesome stadium and awesome fans long-term.

I'm good with Notre Dame as a partial member until the NBC contract expires in 2017 with a binding agreement that they join in full at that point in time.

Miami/FSU is not the top rated game in espn's history.  The only reason they are ranked, along with like 8 of the other top 10, is because they were played on labor day or opening Thursday (opening weekend, only game on that night).  If people gave a crap about Miami, they would be one of ABC's highest rated.  ESPN gets their leftovers.

Not to mention, Boise St played in the highest rated game now.  Should we extend an invite to them too?  Or whatever teams are in those games this year?

just going to 16 won't do anything.  it's going to 16 and making it impossible for anyone outside of the 4-16 to play in the plus one that would cause people to raise crap.  as long as it's made clear that anyone outside of the 4 could still play for the NC I don't think there's much to worry about.

Congress can't agree on anything.  Taking tax exempt status from something as big and as powerful as those 64 teams will never, ever happen.  The Boise States of the world don't have the pull.
