Again, that's from the dude who broke this whole thing.  I listened to him on a West Virgina radio broadcast yesterday, with another guy from Clemson and a guy from FSU.  They all think this thing is a done deal.

 

The thing is that you don't need to "know" an insider to tell you.  There's plenty of comparable evidence to state that this is what's happening.

Florida State is A&M. They're doing a bunch of public sabre rattling to make demands that won't be met, and that will be their justification.

Clemson is Nebraska.  They're doing everything in secret, and when it drops, the mainstream media will treat like someone dropped an atom bomb on Hiroshima.

IMO, Clemson is going to come first.  It's going to be quiet, it's going to be fast, and after that, FSU will have all of the ammo they need to leave.

Louisville is screwed.  Swafford and some of the other schools may want them, but I get the sense that Rutgers and UConn are going to get the call for academic reasons.

UConn and Rutgers gives them a stranglehold on NYC (giving them access to the Garden for the ACC Tournament), and they're both US News Top 100 schools.

Given what we've heard over the past couple of weeks, I can't see the ACC "slumming" it up to bring in a former "commuter school", no matter how nice the KFC Yum! center is.

In that case Louisville will get the ACC invite. I would prefer to stay at 12 but if we do go to 14 I see Louisville snagging the #14 invite even though a couple of more attractive options might be available, it would give WV a close "Rival". No insider knowledge to that, just my gut.

It's not going to be near that much.  As much as people like to think the SEC wants 16, they don't.  Neither VT or NC St. provide the value-add needed to make the dollars work.  Also, with the current playoff structure, if the SEC can't get two teams in, they aren't going to put their member schools at a greater disadvantage.

After reading all of this and kind of "gaming" it out, we'll take FSU and Clemson, and we're going to sit back and wait to see what Notre Dame does.  After that, we'll probably take one more ACC school to round out, and THEN Louisville may get the call.  But that could be 3-5 years from now.

I am pretty sure I saw that there's only 1 ACC team on FSU's top 10 all time record crowds list.  The all time record crowd was against a Big 12 team BTW.

I was thinking about 16 if the right teams were to come and how a champion would be crowned/scheduling. OK so 4 pods. I know that's not fresh. 3 non cons, 3 inter-pod games, 1 game vs 1 team of the 3 other pods. That's 9. Then.. conference playoffs. Set up a bracket similar to double elimination only if you lose, you can't win it all, that side of the bracket would award teams 3rd and 4th place. 1st and second place are obvious. 4 teams would have an 11 game season, 4 teams would have a 13 game season, and 8 would have 12 game seasons (think I did the math right, but I'm thinking on the shitter so someone may want to double check).

So anyway, lots of MEANINGFUL games, lots of drama, major SOS builder, big time $$$.

All of the 16 team scenarios I've seen have us in a pod with KU, OU, and OSU. Assuming OU gets to play Texas every year and we schedule home and home series with the teams we play from each pod, this would mean that we would have 6 year stretches where we don't even play Texas. I don't like that one bit.
