if missouri would just come out and say "hey the SEC kicks ass, we want to go down there!" they wouldn't come off so badly.

Just say, "hey, we'll make a shitload more money in the SEC. Peace." and I would have even more respect. This "stability" bullshit is...bullshit.

imo, would be short-sighted (and practically wreckless) for a state university to claim that it wants to leave the conference it’s in for more money when the negative economic impact of such actions to the state in which is resides would be far greater (like 10’s or millions of dollars greater) than any money they would “gain” by going to the SEC.    How could an oversight board (i.e. curators) justify this?  Which is essentially why they came out and said “hey, like, we’ll try to get something for you, KC”.

i'm usually pretty good with analysis and stuff like that, but i can't make any headway on the issue of whether having ku & mu separated by conference is good for kstate or not.

obviously losing a long-term conference rival is bad, monetarily.  i mean competitively.

Traditionally I have like to watch MU & KU when they are on TV or listen to their games on the radio when they are not playing the Cats. If MU leaves, I will never do that again.  If all KU & KSU fans in the metro do the same, I wonder what will happen to their KC Metro numbers.

I would imagine KU fans will still listen to/watch MU play. I watch NU more now than when they were in the conference.
