Bylaws still require a super-majority of 75% of the league's teams.  So, with ten teams, changes require an 8-2 vote.

UT is angling for a 9-team football, 10-team everything else league.  I can't imagine any other model that would work with ND bringing in all sports other than football.  This allows them to go back to 4 non-con games, ND on Thanksgiving, plus can still have 2 out of 3 other non-cons on LHN.

Why the eff do we want Notre Dame's "other sports"?  We want ND's football program.  They can keep the rest of their shitty teams. 

So UT can use the Big12 to start a relationship with ND with the hopes of it blossoming into something bigger where they are together in FB.  Again, UT really couldn't care less about the Big12 other than it's a place to keep their teams until they can swing something better.  All we are is a place that allows them to have a place to park all of their sports while they make money off LHN.  For the record, UT is going to make a shitload of money no matter what, so I have no problem using that to make KSU $$$ and keep them relevant as well. 

That's exactly what's happening.   On the bright side, in the end we will probably still get all of UT and ND's other sports in our conference.  The downside is that OU and OSU will bolt for the SEC when UT football goes independent in 6 years.  UT will still need to schedule teams after they go independent and they will probably want to continue playing us until they at least lead the series record.  They will be glad to get rid of ISU and KU.
