BYU brings little to the table and would have only stuck around for a max of 10 years before becoming unhappy. The geographical divide between the Big 12 and Provo is not as big as the cultural gap. Let's face it, the made an ordeal out of one of their few black athletes breaking a school policy that involved his private life. Yes, he agreed to play by those rules, yes he broke them. But, BYU didn't have to make it everyone else's business. The rule he broke already conflicts with what most potential male college athletes expect from the "college experience," but then the school made it public. BYU will always want to do it's own thing. I think we've had enough of that in this conference. Besides they really don't bring all that much to the table, if they did the PAC 12 would have gone after them relentlessly.
