In response to all inquiries: Big 12 realignment scenarios impossible to predict. But wagging a finger at Mizzou may tip scale to move
@tspessard Todd Spessard
People I know at #Mizzou confirmed to me what I've been saying since Mid-week. If MU goes, tipping point was Boren upstaging Deaton.
MU is the worst when it comes to using reporters as mouthpieces. My god.
i've been restraining myself from blasting him on twitter.
I don't actually know anything about the vaunted Mizzou school of journalism, but the fact that Mizzou is using Dearmond as a mouthpiece is funny.

I don't even know if it's "Mizzou" that's actually doing it. DeArmond is a fan boy. He knows if he can go to some butt hurt donor that feels as disrespected as he does, he can get the quotes he wants to rile up their fans.
This feels more fan forced than administration leaked.
I mean, yeah, Boren putting out a press conference at the same time as Deaton was probably dumb, but the Big 12 probably knew Deaton was dealing with some discord back home and didn't want a wet rag speaking for the league when we needed someone to say, "Everything is going to be alright," while he got his house in order.
Deaton's press conference, on it's own, would not have done us any favors. As much as Boren's seemed like it was ill timed, we needed some injection of positivity out there, and Deaton's had none because he probably has a lot of idiots rooting for the Big 12 to fail so they can go to the SEC and get dominated.
