i like the idea of teams getting to control their own tier three rights and think that forcing equal revenue sharing on teams that are part of a conference that has never had equal revenue sharing is stupid and lame. just let them have it. wgaf? nobody would care if they were doing something like kstate but they aren't because they don't have to and now everybody is all mad or something. it's just petty and ridiculous. also pathetic.
And that’s why MU is going to leave. They are going to use the LHN as a reason.
Nobody, I mean nobody, is expanding on the 6 year grant of rights (alleged) agreement….which is that it not only gets you through the next negotiation, but that during that next negotiation something similar will get put into place (i.e. granting of rights for a period of time if you leave). Only this time, with the new contract, you’d be giving up a crap ton more than you woud now (even though now is a lot). I think the conference would be better served to have a big12 network.
I think you overestimate MU's ability to bolt. If they do, OU and UT will say that they will dissolve the conference, it's MU's fault, and they'll point Ken Starr right at them
They are being held hostage, and I think that was why Deaton sounded like he did last night.
If we get shared Tier 1, Tier 2, and LHN has restrictions on HS games and broadcasting football and men's basketball games, it's a good deal. We will all get filthy rich, MU can compete I'm this league, and no one gets sued.
If they volunteer to leave and go to the SEC, it will get legal real fast. Slive knows this.
