Quote from: MixBerryCrunch on September 18, 2011, 04:37:33 PMThe ACC takes UCONN and Rutgers to get to 16. The SEC takes UL and WVU to get to 16. The big 10 finally convinces ND to join and takes MU with them. Then they look around and see no other viable options so it's either KU and ISU at that point or poach a couple of ACC teams. They poach the ACC taking Maryland and Virginia. Then the ACC is looking around for two more viable replacements and it's either some combo of Cincy, S. Florida, Baylor, ISU, TCU and BYU or the sweet package deal of KU and K-State. Cincy is shittier than K-State in athletics and academics so they are out TCU and Baylor are shitty small religious schools so they are out. S. Florida is out cause they are a shitty school in a state the ACC already has a big footprint in. ISU offers nothing except an AAU rating so they are out. BYU is way too far away so they are out. The ACC would love to have blue blood KU in basketball and K-State also adds to the basketball picture so it's a no brainer here. They take KU and K-State to get back to 16. ACC just upped their buyout by $10MM, doubt anyone is leaving.

Quote from: sonofdaxjones on September 18, 2011, 04:42:04 PMThe other thing to consider is a 5th 16 team conference. I just don't see a whole bunch of schools that have spent a lot of money on facilities just letting this happen without filing a bunch of lawsuits. Schools like ECU, UCF and others have dumped a bunch of money into their football programs and they and if it comes down being relegated to the trash heap, they're going to lawyer the hell up and start filing lawsuits. They could have the super conferences tied up in court for years.A 5th SuperCo would be great news for us, but it really screws with a playoff which I think is the endgame.

KU is right on par with Notre Dame ... when it comes to adding additional conference revenue
Beer pro tip: never drink anything other than BL, coors, pbr, maybe a few others that I'm forgetting

A lowest level AQ super conference. KSU could do well there.
How the playoff will work:Each super conf will have 4 pods. The winner of each pod will get the invite, 4x4 =16.
PeteThamelNYT Pete Thamel I've confirmed the meeting between Larry Scott andTexas' Dodds and Powers in LA. The four B12 schools trending West, but not done yet.

The BCS still is considered "inclusive" because not all spots are taken.

On the other hand, a Big Reject DOD has some appeal. We could get all pissy about being left out of the BCS or other system.

They only wanted Pitt and oddly enough WVU. After Ark laughed right in their ugly faces. If OU wanted them or BYU, we'd have a league right now. And more than likely, PItt and Cuse stay in the BE because it wouldn't have driven this herd mentality of inevitabile super conferences/expansion.
It will some down to: how and can Athletic Departments detach themselves from their schools?

You all can sit back and think the sky is falling but I'm still feeling confident we will end up in one of the super conferences when I look at who the options would be in our place.
