On September 2, Baylor thinks, "We're all gonna stick around here without a&m and be pals, and bring in some new friends! Sure, I'll vote for this!" On September 3, once the Big 12 has taken its action to give aTm its blessing, OU announces its intentions to get out, too.  Didn't say anything before to avoid Baylor (or others) gumming up the works. Also, wanted to set a precedent for not getting sued when it leaves the conference. But now Baylor feels snookered.

that letter and its warranty mean nothing if the Big 12 and its members no longer exist.  baylor could certainly sue post-B12.

so... a&m wants to bolt and then because of that or maybe for other reasons, ou and texas decide that they want to go pac. texas and ou tell all the remaining teams that they are solidly committed to big10 and to just let a&m go. they then start half ass courting other schools and get all other remaining big12 schools to agree not to sue and it is dated the 2nd. and then after everyone has agreed, ou starts laying down the groundwork for them to go pac. texas still acts like they want to make it work to avoid legislature stuff or other things and then when ou does officially accept texas is like darn dudes, we tried to keep it together but without ou and osu there just isn't anything else to do but leave and then they and tech go as well. is that the consensus or am i way off?

Pretty sure we already have a club team.  Guy who was like 35 and lived in dorm my frosh year that used to buy everyone beer and automatically keep the change regardless of how much you gave him and how little he bought for you used to play on the club team.  That was in '97 though, so maybe not anymore...

Seriously dumbasses, at this point, what happens to aTm is irrelevant. They're gone. stop worrying about it. The question is what do OU/UT do. I can still see them keeping the Big 12 afloat at 9 or adding BYU.
