So, It's looking like the SEC WILL move to 16, and the race to super Conference level is on....ESPN reporting FSU, Clemson, Mizzou and aTm to SEC (or at least being invited by the SEC).
The issue now is whether Texas and OU will endeavor to sustain the Big 12 or whether they just bolt for the Pa-10/Big 10 and be done with it. They could do either, if they wanted. The Big 10 would gladly expand to 16 by adding UT and OU, but who knows if they would want any others.
The PAC-10 offer likely has an expiration date of "never."
With the new reality that 16 team conferences are going to happen, we have to watch what ND will do. If OU and UT could talk them into joining us, then we could make it work in the Big 12...there have already been rumors of BYU and Air Force....they could fill out our list with the likes of UH and TCU as well.
OR, we can rough ridin' pray that the Big East still wants us, with KU and ISU, minus Mizzou. However, I have doubts about whether the Big East can survive once the ACC and Big 10 start licking their chops and plucking Big East teams....the Big East is probably just the future east-coast version of the Mountain West.
I guess I just wish we had an AD who wasn't rumored to be actively interviewing for other jobs.
