Maybe you'll get more bites if you can actually express why this bothers you so much. First of all that link implies that this system would place $30K as a floor. Does it make you feel better that if those rowers are getting $30K, the football players would still be getting 10x that? Does it make you feel better that those wrestlers would now be able to not have to take out loans to pay for school even though they have to practice the same amount of hours that the football players do? Your crusade against olympic sports is confounding. They often times have to devote more time to their sports for significantly less scholarship money, no stipends, less NIL, more travel requirements, less health care, and fewer perks. You continually act like the olympic sports get equal anything or there's a threat for that to happen, at all. You want to take things from them that either don't exist or would save the school almost literally nothing.

According to that link we have ~450 student athletes.  Funding at the min level would be 6.7 million per year.  Seems like we would have the funds to at least pay the cover charge to the new club.  Not sure if we we can then afford drinks or get any of the cool people to talk to us but we should at least be able to get in.

We can. We're essentially middle class within the P4. It looks pretty daunting on paper, but I'm not sure that it changes anything, in football anyway. When was the last time a non top like 20 percenter in revenue compete for a football national championship? TCU? We saw how close they were, which wasn't close at all.

Whep, this haves vs the have-nots is going to happen, which will be the football superconference of schools.  They will form their own league and break away from teams that don't have the resources to compete at their level.  I read about this last spring from various ADs, HCs, and top dog talking heads, such as  Kirk Herbstreit.  He said on the Pat McAfee Show last spring that we are going to see changes that are going to change how schools will complete and it will happen in the next two years.  So here we are with the NCAA kissing the blue blood asses, cause they want to keep control, and what better way than to make the rich schools get richer.  There will still be conferences for the rest of the sports which will include a FB tournament for league of schools that are not part of the D1+ FB league.

SPC, I think BB will also be part of the D1+ league eventually.  The issue with the other sports is there is no money in them so only if one of them becomes popular will it be considered by the networks.

Very likely. We'll probably be relegated to the minor leagues for coaches and players in all major sports. The new "mid-majors" if you you will. We'll find the diamonds in the rough, then the majors saunter in with their swinging sacks of cash and money whip everybody.

I've heard people talk about it won't matter with the 12 team playoff. We'll see when there are 4 SEC and 4 BIG 10 teams every year. Then they'll split the lion's share of the post season money as well. Also, the seeding will be to their advantage at every opportunity. It's only a matter of time before they'll want the March Madness money, and maybe the CWS too.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy. They're the best, so now they get twice as much money. Then, when they get twice as much money they'll buy the best coaches, players, facilities, amenities. That will make them 10 times better, so they'll want 10x as much money, etc.
