I have my doubts but I'm hoping the smoke around Oregon is real.  If they do, the rest of the Pac 12 will line up and we'll have our pick from there.

Yea ESPN has no vested interest in PAC anymore, makes sense for them to push teams to Big 12.  Would imagine the preference is to get to 16 and stop.  Arizona, UW and Oregon would be perfect.

ESPN was manipulating the death of the Big 12 two years ago, now they're manipulating the death of the PAC 12.  I don't think they anticipated Bowlsby adding 4 schools to the conference, or Yormark poaching the Buffs from PAC 12.  That background doesn't make me all that excited.  If PAC 12 had decent leadership, this wouldn't be happening.

Because Oregon and Washington are the only pac schools that might get a BIG invite and they would leave us in a second if that happened. Best to gather up the best of the unwanted and have unity knowing we are all in the same boat.

Getting Oregon and Washington takes this conference from a conference of decent teams to a conference that is top to bottom better than the BIG. The BIG may be a bit better at the top with Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State, but this removes a LOT of that advantage.

I'm not saying this applies to Oregon, but there is/was definitely a birthright entitlement attitude POV infecting the PAC.  Kliavkoff is as much the symptom as the disease.  We just rid ourselves of Texas, we don't need that back.

I'm on board with this.  We're becoming a conference of peers (more or less), and Oregon definitely does not see us that way.  They'd have a foot out the door before they even arrive.  I think Yormark's comment about wanting teams that want to be here was aimed squarely at them (and possibly Utah).

Maybe it’s bc I’m a Californian, but I find the AZ schools to be the most attractive.

Schools like Oregon and WA clearly don’t want to be in the Big 12, and it makes no sense anyway.

From a sports/fan perspective it would be kinda neat to have them in our conference, but seems like a bad business deal unless we get a super long term GOR that makes us all richer regardless of whether they stay in the conference.
