There has to be some kind of deal to get TX & OU out of the Big 12 as harmlessly as possible, so there is a program being groomed to go to another P5 conference.  I rule out Kansas because of their embarrassing begging, and K-State because we are an outlier geographically.  I vote Tech.

The more I see from conference talking heads and their predictions for the Big XII, adding four good schools like UCF, UH, BYU, and BSU would help with unity.  We would have greater bargaining power with a PAC 12 network alinement.  If we stay with 8 it might mean the end of Big XII.  Just heard today that TTU approached the PAC about adding four Big XII schools.  They would be TTU, BU. TCU and OSU.  Kansas won't shut up about getting an invite to the BIG.  Also nobody thinks WVU will stick around, as there is talk about them joining the AAC for ease of travel.  This looks to destabilize the conference as ESPN wants.    IF that happens we can forget about out rv contract and payment from any school.

I might add, that the schools we get sign up like UT and OU have with the SEC.  We just need them to be in the new TV contract, but also may need them when PAC 12 network is redone for 2023-24 for the alinement.  I'm not sure but that might be the same time the new SEC contracts begin.

Anyone who thinks TCU and Baylor are being added to any other P5 conference are not to be taken seriously. TCU got lucky by being in the right place at the right time with the Big 12. They won't make it to another conference as they don't really add much. Baylor never belonged in a P5 in the first place and they're headed straight for the AAC or Sunbelt if the Big XII falls apart.

As long as everyone's writing realignment fan fiction, how about this one?  The Big XII creates a partnership with the PAC.  The Arizona schools join the XII, and both conferences play a full round robin with their conference.  Each team also plays a rotating non conference schedule alternating between 3 games against the other conference and 2 games against the other conference and 1 against a "rival" school from a different conference.  At the end of the season, the champion of each conference plays the other in sort of a hybrid bowl game slash interconference championship game with the winner securing an automatic bid in the CFP.

Every 4 years, each team would have played every team in the opposite conference once plus a home and home against their rival.

This sounds good, but the Big XII and PAC 12 should not play a conference champion game between each other.  This would possibly make one conference ineligible for the CFP. and that's were the money is.
