How would money be divided up per team if some had football and others did not?  I.E. K-State gets $15mill and a team with bball only gets $6mill??  I have no idea how it is divided now.

Right now I believe they use a 75 25 split between the Football and non football schools.

What’s difficult to stomach is that this could easily be solved by two things:  the end of the LHN and the beginning of the big12 network.  Even in that model, revenues would not have to be shared equally.  UT and OU could get more of the cut (and I bet if you called a&m, you could get them back if they were guaranteed an “elite team” cut).  And while that wouldn’t offer Texas more money than the pac-16, it would offer then money that was reasonably close and it would offer the one thing they would lose in the pac-16:  power.  In the pac-16, they would not only have compoletely equal revenue sharing, but also reduced power.  The league then becomes a place that others would actually want to be a part of.

75/25 seems very fair to me. The more I think about it, it doesn't seem that bad. Its still a BCS conference (at least for now), and we'd be a top-tier fb team in that conference, in terms of attendance and tradition, etc. Of course the BB would be insane. A lot of travel involved, but at least we're not spread out over 3 time zones (Pac). Still a step down from where we are, but not unbearable.

Also, what are the chances that ND would also join w/ their FB program as part of such a move? (Probably nil, but would be very cool).

Pac-12 expansion could happen soon. If it does, divisional alignment will be a major problem for Colorado if it's in the same division as the Texas and Oklahoma schools.
