K-State's shot of ever winning a National Title in football went out the door once the playoffs were introduced. There's no way we're ever winning 2-3 games in a row vs blue blood programs.

Why not? We've had teams that were good enough to do it before.

I worry a little bit that it will be like the early to mid 90's (when I was a little cat) and it will be really hard to watch cats games again.

I don't see that happening. With all the TV contracts and internet streaming, I think we'll be able to watch a football games just about anywhere. You and I are similar in age, so I do know what you're talking about. I regularly listened to the games on the radio with my father as he made the rounds with the tractor. However, back then a majority of the football games were simply untelevised. That's not the case in today's modern world.

Our best teams lost all of their postseason games. Even when we have our dream seasons, we crap the bed against prime competition.

K-State's best chance was for a title was to win the B12 was to be one of 2 undefeated teams to force our way into a title game.  Now we wouldn't have to go undefeated (assuming we're in a major conference), but would have to win 3-4 more games against top competition.  We're probably never doing that.  If we end up the G5, we'll have to go undefeated and then win 3-4 more games against teams that have an even bigger advantage over

2012 KSU was close to playing for a title and could've beat ND in the system that existed then.  Now they would've potentially had to go through Oregon or Bama and they weren't winning those games.

I think the people who are speculating have no idea what the decision makers base their decisions on and just jump to conclusions.  I mean K-State isn't within 15 miles of a large city and went 4-6 last season.  Who would want them?

I would argue the networks make all their decisions based on stuff like that, they just have way better data and know how to adjust for time slots and other demographics that drive their revenue streams.  The problem we have is we only have some top line rating numbers and don't know all the levers that really drive rating in key demo groups.  These are all just "back of napkin" type stuff various media and message boarders are doing.
