Last I knew they were in the red with a lot of debt about to come due. If they lose any more money they may need an stimulus package.

Tech is really flying under the radar this time around.

Obviously they've firmly hitched their wagon to UT and want to head to the PAC (and probably will when UT caves and joins OU) but if that little deal doesn't work out their just as effed as the rest of the reject posse. The Big East has been coveting that latent West Texas market for a long time though, so they've got that going.

you would think that it would be painfully obvious to all members that even though they all have options in one way shape or form, some better than others, that the best option is figuring out how to make this conference work. maybe/hopefully this time has made them come to that conclusion.

I try but I just don't see it. And maybe that's the hook we sell it to them.

The only reason Texas retained its power in the Big 12 for so long is because Oklahoma, A&M, and Nebraska were all willing partners in it. That is why Texas is looking at the ACC. They see the same type of suckers they had when they looked at the Big 8 back in 95.

Mizzou can think they will be the Texas all the want but they won't have it like Texas had it in the Big 12.

I can't imagine what the tv money payout would be. Like, what? $10 and a carton of smokes? Possibly a christmas ham for most tv appearances.

That's sort of why I'm beginning to believe if, against all odds, we can find a way to keep this conference together we actually may have some real solidarity going forward.

at A&M, they are wanting to leave at the exact wrong time, and some of things I've heard listening to SEC sports radio a little this last week is that Bill Byrne and Mike Sherman aren't exactly excited about going to the SEC, but they're just along for the ride with their penile challenged president and board of directors.

If their administration had a half a brain, they'd understand they quite literally could be on the cusp of surpassing Texas in football, I don't think Mack Brown is long for Texas at this point. His best bud just railroaded out of there for sexual harassment . . . IMO Mack is just looking to stuff about $10 million more of Texas' money into his pocket and then he's riding off into the sunset. A&M will never be in the same position in the SEC, never.

The only "suckers" were the have nots( KU,KSU,ISU,CU etc). NU was the only dissenting vote for the big 12. All the have nots were so butt hurt because NU had been bullying them around for so long. You thought that you could all vote for the new cool kid in school (Tex) to try and hurt the bully.
