i'm beginning to wonder how believable the quote really is. maybe ken corbitt misunderstood what he said? i haven't seen this quote reported anywhere else, and given that it's the most jarring player quote i've ever read anywhere, i find that hard to believe.

i suppose it's possible that corbitt spoke to gipson one-on-one.

yeah, reading the gipson quote, it sounded like he meant, "if we play like we did today, we'll lose by 27." either he misspoke or his quote was taken out of context or he was super frustrated following a terrible loss. i prefer college kids to speak their minds rather than to mindlessly repeat what has been coached into them by robot SIDs, so hopefully it's an authentic quote in proper context. not the end of the world either way.

also, i'm still curious if corbitt got the quote in a one-on-one interview or in a pool setting.
