Sweet corn crop is early.   Neighbor never makes any money because he sells it for free!

Rookie numbers, gotta bump those up.

Also congrats on the corn bonanza, you gonna freeze most of that?

Farm neighbor has grown about an acre every summer for years.  He's in his 70s.

Usually 2 plantings a couple weeks apart, but it matured at the same time this round.

He always calls once others have got their fill, and then we pick what's left.

Field corn looks spectacular.  Beans planted on Father's Day weekend, not so much.

As someone who knows nothing about planting soybeans I am surprised at how late in the year you can plant them. At the fiances place 3 weeks ago they had just baled the hay and hauled off the bales (picture below with the turkeys).

There is a small farm pond in the corner of that 20 acres and when I went out there this weekend the hayfied had been planted to soy beans rows that were about 6 inches high.

Saw some turkeys on their recently harvested Hayfield when we were driving back to KC on Sunday morning.

Corn out there looks pretty awesome. It is going to need some rain to make it through this July heat.
