That shop is entirely too clean.  No way that is on a real farm.
Starting to fill up!

Hung the old cow head and road signs we had on the new barn wall.  Know for a fact the rest of the family is laughing at me.

Should be some Tillie pix earlier in this thread.  She is my cousins dog.  He farms the family ground.

https://www.kcur.org/2022-12-15/this-is-the-first-time-the-kansas-water-authority-has-voted-to-save-whats-left-of-the-ogallala

Will be interesting to see where this goes.

I'm guessing it will be something where in a couple of years farmers can get some sweet sweet government cash to give up their water rights for irrigation.

The cat ranch has one irrigated circle but it shares a well with my Aunt's circle and the well is on her land. The well used to pump enough for both circles but now it can only pump enough for one circle at a time so the cat ranch get it like 25% of the time.

So if they do start offering people money to give up their water rights I'd be all for it since the cat ranch currently does not get our full allocation.

So the last time I roaded the skid steer to the field I was making a left hand turn.  I had two coats on so the hoodie blocked my perefieral vision.  I figured a rock road on a Sunday that was a low risk maneuver until I see the FedEx truck making its move to pass me.  Luckily I was turning slowly and he didn't end up with the bucket in the side of the truck.

This led me down the path of a magnetic mirror for the blind spot and be able to see what's behind me.

That is awesome. I remember running one of those cranks on Grandpa's auger so it could be lowered for transport.

Reminds me. Did anyone grow up reading "Farm Show" magazine? It was packed for of articles about different things that farmers had built on their farms. Some of them were super cool but some seemed like more trouble than they were worth "Manitoba beet farmer modifies John Deere 95 combine as a mobile platform for hanging Christmas decorations" etc...

yes, I'd immediately flip to the farmer invention page and ignore the rest of the magazine. was incredible. I believe my grandfather submitted quite a few for consideration but not sure any made it to print. our ranch to this day has tons of his creations all over it.

Curry comb.  Used for brushing livestock, usually horses or show cattle.
