I gave up on growing sweet corn after 2 failed attempts.  Until I can monitor it daily it's just money spent to feed the racoons.  However, I can still pick it at the neighbors patch, and eat the crap out of it.

Looks awesome.

Pests wiped out the sweet corn that my kids planted but a friend gave us some ears that were delicious - cooked some on the Traeger and just used the old boiling water method for the rest.

They share their sweet corn.  I share pictures of us eating it.

3 in on flint hill pastures, 1.5 in on crops.  Much needed for sure.  Corn is pretty much done, but will jump start the beans hopefully.

Spent Saturday in the flint hills.  Rains in last week have things pretty green for end of July.  Mrs8 did some fishing, but not much action.  Tater got to bark at cows and waddle into the ponds.

That 2nd pick of the Flint hills is pretty great.

Does tater ever help herd cattle? When I got back from vision questing after watching those  dogs herd the cattle on the mountain I did some googling and my Instagram feed fed that into the algo to discover this IG account.

Tater could only dream of doing this.  He chases squirrels in JoCo then gets ran under the pick up by the first cow that doesn't take his crap in Waubunsee County.

Always amazed at the hours of training it takes to do this.

We had a dumped dog growing up... Doberman coloring.  Loved to follow the cattle when we were on horse back.  Once in the pen he went back to long naps in the pick up.

My farmer grandpa imprinted upon me that badgers are as rough ridin' mean as it gets as early as I can remember
