I thought it started with Bill adding Family to the stadium name to make up for the prior decades, and his speech.

It's definitely extremely tucky and honestly kinda small-timey and the rest of the country probably rolls their eyes at how dorky and family values'y and heartland'y it all is. But if it helps us convince MCMW parents to send their kids here, then w/e, I'm cool with it.

I don't mind the family thing . . . what is disturbing is how that spills over into all the feel good'ism etc. etc. ingrained in the fact that we can't recruit anybody that can beat out walk-ons

THIS!!! There's nothing more frustrating than hearing some sportscaster talk about our fine walk-ons, when deep down they are making fun of our inability to recruit scholarship athletes that are worth a crap.
