On oscar and Co.'s coaching effort against OU: "Brilliant."
Q: "Where the hell was this? If they go 12-6 are they a tourney team?"
A: "Yes. You're thinking about previous years....Go around the country and look and I can give you an abysmal non-con loss....Georgia is going to get 22-23 wins and be a tourney wins. The # of RPI top 50 is almost every team. Sweep TCU, sweep Tech, beat oSu at home. You don't have to get to 12 wins!"
Gottlieb:
"I think 10-8 gets them in."
"Tell me a team that would be a better selection! U-dub lost to Stony Brook at home. You will be stunned."
Soren- "Listen I've got a vote, and I take it to 40 so I know, it takes me through all the at-larges. I don't bracketology Joe Lunardi it. And K-State is not there yet."
Gottlieb: "Who do you have in as the last couple in."
Soren: "I'm not calling this a bracket but here is my 26-40."
Gottlieb: "Yeah Seaton Hall. Seaton Hall is not good. Butler. You have Florida in there. Who has Florida beaten? Even if you say 'Florida is better than K-State' they are not gonna have enough opportunities! When the Big 10 in previous years has got 7-8 teams in the tourney it is because of the RPI top 50. If K-State can beat Iowa St., Baylor, Oklahoma St at home and lose to KU and lose to OU at home and sweep the Tech and TCU...You've got 6-7 top 50 RPI wins total, you've got a top 50 RPI road win. As long as you don't lose to a TCU or a Tech I think 10-8 gets you in!"
Soren: "Florida has a much more distinguished group of losses and plus I think they will start to get on a roll.:
Gottlieb: "K-State has beaten A&M and OU on the road! Tennessee is a bad one. I think it will be a tough road. I am just telling you they need to find 68 teams. Look at these losses. Cal lost to Cal St. Bakersfield, WSU, USC, UCLA they are not making it."
Soren: "I take Florida and you take K-State. Who is going?"
Gottlieb: "Florida is more likely. Hold on, if they win 10 conference games they are getting in. Let's bet."
