I think if either could shoot or pass it would be really cool.

Thoughts?

Watching Hurt take outside shots is maddening.

Having both of them on the floor at the same time is :flush: one of them seems to always be mismatched.

Hurt is a pussy, plus he makes terrible decisions. Neither of those guys is making a 15 foot jumper either. The hi-lo sounds great in theory, but would only contribute more to the dumpster fire.

You should find that pussy on Twitter or use the student directory and tell him he's a pussy it's the right thing to do.

any type of inside game would benefit this team but like mir said, gip/hurt should not be on the floor together for any significant time

our strength is our 2/3's and we should be playing inside out

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

What we run isn't going to matter if we don't run it for a crap.

This assumes:

1) we had guards capable of entry passes
2) Gip being able to pass
3) Gip being able to make a good decision when the double comes

Otherwise we should be just letting Foster run wild with it Kobe style.  I will be incredibly pissed if that is not what happens Wed. night.

To get a true sense of whether a big is making the right decisions out of the double you gotta see the film. In most cases the offensive player that loses the defender to the double has to reposition himself to make him available to the big being doubled. If they stay there the doubling defender is still in that passing lane.

obvs there's a shitload wrong with our team, not one thing will fix it but our best chance at getting better is to free up the perimeter

At some point I had gotten the impression that Hurt could shoot.  That doesn't seem to be the case.

I have concluded that we have to start playing Nigel more so as to have another outside shooter in the game.  Edwards has been a shooting disappointment, and although Jevon is shooting the three at around 33%, something tells me that won't hold up.  Wes can't shoot, either.  Play Harris more, too.  We need to hit some outside shoots (besides Foster) to loosen things up.

This is maddening. I love Gip, but he just isn't very good at recognizing doubles.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Countering a double takes offensive movement to create passing lanes. I don't believe we done a good job helping Gip. But also has had some struggles in the past with double teams.

Yeah, oscar hasn't been able to make teams pay AT ALL for doubling Gip. It's entirely oscar's fault we've never gotten an easy bucket out of a double in the post.

I agree, but we already know that Gip is a poor passer.  They are both problems though.  If everyone started cutting to the basket or shifting for open 3 Ptr's it is not clear to me Gip would execute all the passes.

DJamer's injury is a bigger issue than oscar let on back in September. That was our inside game death-blow.  Hurt can't score inside..or catch teh ball...or rebound in traffic...

DJamer's injury is not an issue.  Hurt/Bolden/Harris being bad is an issue.  Our backcourt is an issue.  Gip unable to handle the double is an issue.  Our defense is an issue.  oscar losing Foster is an issue.  Our turnovers are an issue.  Our lack of intensity/motivation is an issue.

The lack of DJamer is not a top 10 issue on this team.

DJamer was probably the closest thing we had to a rim protector. IMHO.
