Confirmed.  Hubsan X4 broke in 15 minutes (i did fall from like 30' up) already on it's way back to Amazon.

Review the X5C1 Scribe!!!  That was one I was looking at as a replacement.

OK, set it up and flew it a few times today. The first time I kept it low and near my driveway and showed off for the kids. Next, unfortunately, it got stuck incredibly high in my neighbor's oak tree. Spent 20 minutes tossing my football (a gift from my second grader) at it before eventually getting it down without crushing it. Obviously, I'm not good at flying it but my god it's fun!
After that we took it up to our local middle school and flew it around the football field. I took it very, very high there, really wowing my guys. Around this time, I noticed it continued to lean as it flew in one direction. I don't know if one of the four propellers isn't operating at full speed or what, need to check that out tomorrow. I have not tried the still or video camera function yet. DO NOT FLY IT INDOORS. I don't know what these cost, it was a gift from my Dad. It is definitely fun, but also feels a tad cheap Chinese-y.

How is this really different than plastic kites?

No string, cameras, and lots of zoom-zoom power cool factor?

Buy lots and lots of track. Then use boxes as supports to build a track from the table to the coffee table then to the floor and then back up on the train table. lil'sd will be very impressed.

I have no clue what a battery runs these days, but like 10-12 yrs ago, it wasn't such a big deal to just buy a new drill set(includes new battery) rather than just a new battery. 

Kinda like old ink cartridges and cheap printers.

I got a lot of cool crap, but I thought you all should know that grandma fanning got me a flash light for my car and that was it. Not only that, but she got Ms. Wacky like 3 gifts to my one. Also, we always do a white elephant exchange at the end. I had the last number, but since gma was #1, she got last pick. What did she do? She took my gift of the Royals Championship ale from blvd and Scratcher tickets. What did I do to her you guise!
