How do you nog?

Any home noggers out there in the cyberscape who have a ripping great recipe to share? 

I had some Evan Williams Egg Nog a couple of weeks ago that good, but not life changing.

Plain egg nog, a shot and a half of cheap whiskey, stir, sprinkle with nutmeg. Quick, easy, delicious.

Thought about making it from scratch sometime but it seems like a lot of work.

Ingredients:
4 egg yolks
1/3 cup sugar, plus 1 tablespoon
1 pint whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
5 ounces bourbon [more/less to taste]
1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
4 egg whites

Directions:
In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the egg yolks until they lighten in color. Gradually add the 1/3 cup sugar and continue to beat until it is completely dissolved. Add the milk, cream, bourbon and nutmeg and stir to combine.

Place the egg whites in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat to soft peaks. With the mixer still running gradually add the 1 tablespoon of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.

Whisk the egg whites into the mixture. Chill and serve.

Don't forget to spice it up, folks!  A teaspoon of vanilla, if that's your poison.  Or--if you're feeling naughty--1/2 teaspoon of cayenne!

Yep. Also Milk Nog is the Nog equivalent of a punch in the throat

I've only had homemade nog once so maybe it just wasn't the best.  It tasted awful.  It tasted like the nutmeg fairy took a dump in a glass of expired milk.

My boy child likes to put hot coco(sp?) mix in his nog, and then nuke it.  It's a bold flavor, that's not for everyone.
