It's already been said in the original post but just to reiterate. (as some of you are getting off topic)

Wisconsin beats tOSU
Georgia Tech beats FSU
Oregon beats Arizona
Alabama beats Mizzou

It would help if TCU loses to Iowa State but I'm not going to waste my time with that.

Then the only thing we would have to worry about is Georgia Tech leapfrogging us to get into the final four. They would have had three straight good wins, but with one of their losses being to UNC that probably is too much to overcome. Same with Wisconsin. (lost to NW)

Why do we want Alabama to beat Mizzou?

I'm thinking TCU chokes against ISU, and then Baylor chokes against us. Big 12 gets no playoff berths, but we are sole champs.

So Mizzou doesn't leapfrog us. I don't think they would, though, if we beat Baylor.

Mizzou lost to Indiana. They are not moving from 16 to 4. If by some miracle we make the playoffs, I'd rather the SEC just not be there.

The only thing crazier than thinking Mizzou has a chance against Bama is thinking Mizzou would leapfrog us if we both win. Maybe Bama's players will all get food poisoning or something.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think this weekend wouldn't be nearly as exciting if it was an eight team playoff.

It would be every bit as exciting if conference champions received auto-berths, and last weekend would have been almost as good.

Damn. I just checked the schd for Saturday. We've got ISU-TCU at 11am, Mizzou-Bama at 3pm, and then everyone else playing at the same time at night.  :ohno: Just like '98!

Under this scenario I guess we'd find out just how much the committee really does value a conference champ.  Since that would mean cats would be the 10-2 champs of the toughest league in college football and would be left out of the playoff.

Our odds should increase to 6 or 7% after we beat Baylor.

2. Ole Miss beat MSST

4. OSU loses their QB

5. Petty get's a concussion

Our odds should increase to 6 or 7% after we beat Baylor.

Well, all of the other games would pretty much be over by that point so our odds would either be very high or non-existant.

Timhawk math says regardless of the Baylor outcome, we are 50:50...either in or not.

let's do odds, the 'blast way.

cats beat baylor - 35%
Ga Tech beats Fla State - 40%
Oregon beats Arizona - 80%
Wisconsin beats Ohio St - 60%

(.35)(.4)(.8)(.6) = 6.72%

LET'S DO IT
