Has anyone mentioned the fact that our last trip to Waco was when we had Klutz-head Klein and this time they have Sketti Petty?

IT WILL BE SWEET REVENGE!!

you have to consider the X factor, which  none of these fancy charts and stats seem to highlight
k-state owes the bears a strong kick in the nuts from the last time we played in waco
that kick will be strongly delivered on saturday night and the pain that the bears feel will be deep and throbbing.

I hope CK emphasizes to Jake just how strongly this KITN deserves to be delivered.

WVU blitzed a ton too, and we moved the ball into the red zone a bunch. We had 12 drives where our offense was on the field (not counting the fumbled KO and punt return for TD) and the last of those drives we were just running the clock out. 6 of our drives got inside the WVU 20 and we only got 16 points (1 TD, 3 FGs) from those drives. We also drove to the WVU 27.

I think like that game, we'll be able to move the ball pretty well with the pass against Baylor if they choose to load the box/blitz (and they will). We just have to find ways to finish those drives with TDs and scores more than we did at WVU. The Cats are actually one of the best RZ teams in the league, scoring 89% of the time and 69% with TDs. We can't have a game like WVU or Auburn where we are way below that, or like TCU where we hardly move the ball or get to the RZ.

I bet Bennett blitzes like 70% of the time. I just hope Jake can handle the heat as well as he is capable of and we can strike Phil's defense lightning-quick.

Bad choice of words when referencing Phil Bennett.  :nono:

Our RB's are simply awful.   I mean really, good RB's would have run all over ku on Saturday.   DRob looks like a block of ice trying to run the football he's so stiff, and lacks explosion through the hole.   That's just a big concern, because you know Bennett is going to load it up and force K-State to try and beat them through the air.

Yeah, I think it could be similar to the West Virginia game. It will come down to our ability to finish drives with TDs when we get into the redzone because I don't think our defense won't stop Baylor like we did WVU.

I think we can/will run with Jake this game.  I mean screw it.  It's just a shoulder.  It's not like he had a concussion or anything.

Jake won't be able to run against their defense.

I didn't see the BU-WVU game, but what did WVU to allow them to win the game, and are we capable of doing it? Also, do any of the stats presented here take into account penalties? Baylor is atrocious at penalties IIRC, or is a mute point given that things like first downs/explosive plays were made regardless of the penalty yards applied to Baylor?

They had 18 penalties for 215 yards against WVU. Wow.

Damn, I just remember watching part of their game with OSU two weeks ago, they must have had 5 false starts in the 20 minutes I watched, not joking.

FYI Baylor averages about 14 drives per game.

I'll take the under.

Maybe you could see if CBS Sports will take your action...

Okay, this isn't pretty. Since Bill's return, Briles' offense has absolutely owned K-State.

Yes, because we scored some points and controlled clock (we ran around 20 more plays in each game), but it still made things really tight.

Its tough to overcome giving up >.55 points per play and 7.0 yards per play unless you win TOs AND special teams.

Something tells me they won't get that many PPP and YPP this year.

I'm much more confident that will get .50 PPP and 6.0 YPP than us stopping them. I think our offense will be pretty good, we just need enough defense to find a way to win like in '11.

Captain Obvious was breaking this game down for me, and made two really good points:
1. Not starting the game off down 14 points would certainly help.
2. This game is going to make the difference between a good season and a great season.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

What's Baylor's injury situation look like on defense since the outset of the season?  They've been giving up a crap-ton of yardage lately...

In a Big 12 Championship game like this, the game often comes down to special teams. Sean needs to have his guys ready to roll.

Yes, and another thing to consider is that our nut kickers are coached by former all american Sean Snyder. I doubt they miss.
