'11 @ OSU cost us a Dr Pepper. We led with less than 5 min left and had 3 plays to tie the game from 5 yard line. How is that not top 5???

I think '07 KU is a underrated KITN game, watching KU win in Lawrence was one thing but seeing it in Manhattan really hurt. Also Jordy burned Talib and I though it would be easy.

Damn, real talk. We were ranked too, and then to watch them go on to 12-1, OB, etc. while K-State all but completely tanked was terrible. Bad times, man. Bad times.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I think a part of it is anticipation going in. I had NO anticipation of beating a team ranked 3rd, on the road, a week after losing by like a million to OU. Gut wrenching for me is expecting, or at least hoping for a win and losing instead. I didn't have much anticipation before that one. The OU game a week earlier was much, much worse IMO

What were your expectations when we were ahead with 5 minutes left? Mine were winning the game and the conference.

Hopeful for a big upset. But the way our D couldn't stop them, I don't think my hopes were ever gonna get too high until we had a 2 score lead.

We ended the game on the goal line and couldn't score in three chances. That's about as bad as it gets.

My guy was somewhat wrenched, TC. I watched it in an old Chicago in freaking Andover with another guy who was vaguely a k state fan, and definitely thought we had it won at the end.

1 – 98 ATM
2 – 12 Baylor
3 – 00 OU (B12C)
4 – 00 OU (home)
5 – 02 CU
6 – 02 UT
I don’t feel like any of the above need any explanation

7 – 04 ISU – I cannot stand ISU, we were up like 14 points in the 4th qtr, Sproles’ last game….it was absurd
8 – 07 KU – It was really tough to take because we had all the momentum going into half and then Freems gets picked, they were a farce, but we weren't that good
9 – 11 OSU – so…close
10 – 07 MU – I put this one on here because after Chase and Maclin got done running a train on our secondary and the game was over, MU players were walking off the field and the KSU students began chanting “beat ku”.  It was, to me, the all time low of the prince era.

aside from the obvious one these (not the worst losses just the most gut-wrenching for some reason)

pinstripe salute
2002 texas (missed extra point and fg if I am remembering the right game)
2000 "thank god we stole their coaches" comment from sooners following game in MHK

I wasn't really a die hard KSU football fan before I came to school here, so while I remember '00 OU, '98 A&M, being disappointing, they weren't really gut wrenching for me personally. Here's my most gut wrenchiest losses.

1. 12 Baylor
2. 03 Marshall
3. 02 Colorado
4. 11 OU
5. 04 Kansas
6. 02 Texas
7. 03 Texas
8. 07 Kansas
9. 10 Nebraska
10. 04 Colorado

I dunno but Bowl games don't wrench my gut quite like a regular season game does. Even the Fiesta Bowls. 05 Colorado, 06 Kansas, 07 Missouri (agree with zacker on this, it was a low moment), 04 Fresno, 05 Nebraska, 09 Nebraska, 13 NDSU, etc were all sad factories also.

actually n/m for some stupid reason i thought had nub lost that game that we would have been in the championship game but they still would have gotten the tie breaker anyway.  Looking things up is fine, but i'd much rather just try to recall how i felt about something that happened almost 20 years ago

Today Lutz has the 10 biggest wins but for some reason that doesn't really interest me nearly as much, what does this say about me?

I'm kinda in the same boat, granted I wasn't in school until '07, but I didn't follow the 'cats until '00. My list would be:

1. '12 Baylor, for obvious reasons
2. '00 OU (champ game), while the second loss to OU that year, it was the first time I really had my will for the cats thwarted, and it hurt bad
3. '10 Nebraska, by far the worst I ever felt after a game I attended, even if the game ended up being meaningless.
4. '11 OU, undefeated at that point, competitive first half, and then totally crapped the bed in the second half.
5. '07 Kansas, totally ruined my mood for Prince, the season, and why I don't awfully care if they keep having 3-9 seasons for the next 20 years, TSC be damned, also when I realized I don't care how talented JFree was he was an awful decision maker.
6. '03 Marshall, felt like how I felt after the NDSU game, but way worse.
7. '07 Missouri, cheering for them to beat ku looked and felt awful, maybe the most visible low point for Prince, but to me the back to back 40+ losses or w/e to OU and TT in '08 were the low point in terms of the program. That and getting blown out by KU in Lawrence.
8. '02 Texas, at least the Auburn game made that kicking choke job look not as bad, but still.
9. '03 Texas, dat fumble.
10. '13 NDSU, hate seeing some lowly team beat us, at home, and revel in it. And the fireworks at the end just make it all seem like a joke and im sure those NDSU fans thought it was the greatest night of their lives.

And it doesn't count as gut wrenching but '08 Kansas was awful, I turned it off like halfway through the second quarter, earliest I ever stopped caring about the KSU game ever. '11 OSU game was gut wrenching to lose ultimately, but it doesn't make the list, I never thought we'd had a chance and the fact we ended up 5 yards of at least tying and if not winning off a 2 point conversion makes it my favorite game we lost, which is not really much but it was a fun game, lots of back and forth, and high drama.

Oh yeah maybe that's the game I'm thinking of. Needed nub to lose and they almost did. Sounds right.

if i spent an hour going back and trying to think i'd end up with something pretty much exactly like this but without that isu game. i absolutely don't get people including bowl games. so weird.

Bowl games are about getting there. Nothing really that gut wrenching about losing them. I guess if we had lost 1 of the Fiesta Bowls in the way we lost the Pinstripe Bowl, my gut might have wrenched a bit.

Let me preface this with an "I'm not gE'ing here"...

The Marshall game...  :dunno: Can someone fill me in? It wasn't the Pennington/Moss Miracle years, wtf happened? (I don't mean to dredge up painful memories, just not knowledgeable about this game)

PI's welcome and expected, given the ranking of guts wrenched from the outcome.
