Gut wrenching losses
« on: November 11, 2014, 09:45:32 PM »
So Bob Lutz had this column today and I think it is a good topicand I'm interested to know how others see this. What do you think are Snyder's 10 most gut wrenching losses.
http://www.kansas.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/lutz-blog/article3788299.html
Lutz puts the TCU loss on there, that wouldn't even make my top 25. Here's my top 10.

10. Tie between 2010 Nebraska & 2009 Louisiana Lafayette
9. 2004 Fresno State
8. 2013 NDSU
7. 2003 Marshall
6. 2000 home game against OU
5. 2004 Iowa State
4. 1996 Nebraska
3. 1996 BYU
2. 2012 Baylor
1. I mean, duh

Everyone please share & discuss, it's a bye week

2010 Nebraska would be a little higher for me and byu cotton bowl would be a little lower.  Pretty good though.

I'd have 2002 Colorado on there somewhere as well as 1995 Colorado in place of Iowa st and NDSU.

Those two would have been next if I extended the list out. If this was a top 20 I would have had either 4 or 5 CU games on there.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

No, that was in 94.  We gave them a good game, but he ripped off several good runs in the second half to keep us from winning.

No Salaam won the heisman in 94. The 95 game was the home game that was back and forth but we couldn't finish it off.

Agreed, MIR. After the aTm game, a loss in San Antonio was easy to see coming.

Going to the bowl was just an extension of the gut wrench

Losing @KU in '04 is definitely in my top 10.

Maybe I'm being a bit revisionist but I feel like there was a strong possibility the streak would end that night. I do remember the rough ridin' game wasn't televised and I had to listen to the radio & I can't get that emotional huddled around a radio like it was 1938.

My rankings for Snyder 2.0

5. 2013 NDSU
4. 2014 Auburn
3. 2010 BYU (bball, because it hurt that bad and Elite 8, Beard, etc.)
2. 2010 Nebraska. (This was the most anticipated game I can remember. Gameday.  I hate Taylor Martinez.
1. 2012 Baylor

GOODness

Winning a game in the NCAA BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT hurt bad? Also there was no gameday for that Nebraska game, it was on a Thursday night.

I was almost physically ill walking back to my apartment after the Marshall game in '03.

I remember that pass bouncing off of Dennis' hands at the end of the game.

I'm not sure why that one stuck with me like it did.

I broke a wood baseball bat in my back yard after the loss to CU in '02.

I threw a watch across the room after the Texas loss in '02.

Hmm. I was angry back then.

Sorry, TBT. Agree with your post, but my original reply was erroneously posted in this thread. You're spot on on this.
