Greatest Fistpump Band
« on: April 11, 2010, 11:17:12 PM »
I saw Muse in Las Vegas last night.  If they're not the greatest fist pump band out there today, I don't know who is.  It's more of a "flip over a car" type of fist pump than what we like to do while we're EMAWing.  But it's so freaking epic to watch these guys live.  If you're not familiar, go to 3:31 on the clip below for a taste of what I'm talking about.

Couldn't agree more (though I'm far from knowledgable on so many bands that are out there today). Watched all the Wembley performances on youtube, love them. Great live band. Love what they do.

BRAD!  You just saw Muse?  I am ridic. jealous right now.  Muse is without question the best band out right now.  Unbelievable band, both on record and live.  Saw them twice in KC.  Want to see them again.

P.S. You know I met up with Liz at Bonnaroo, right?   :users:

I saw them in KC a couple years ago at the Uptown.  I was worried that they wouldn't live up to my incredible expectations after that show but they definitely did.   I did know about your Bonnarroo trip.  I think I saw a photo of you and Liz there.  Going to a show with Liz has to be a great experience.

Which Uptown show?  I was at both.   :peek:

And where in Vegas did they play/you stay?

I saw Ka.  Very elite.  It had an actual Kung Fu story.

Everything else is kind of meh.

I saw Zumanity.  Was pretty good.  Wouldn't advise going with co-workers/parents/etc.

You know that no mortal can resist fist pumping like mad when "Since U Been Gone" hits the chorus.

God.  Muse.  Not just greatest fistpump band, but just...greatest band.  Holy crap.  Braleighghghgh, what were some of the highlights of this concert?  I had to miss the Houston show because it was 4 hours away, couldn't miss work, and besides, that was the first night of the NCAA tourney's first round.  So let me live vicariously, please.

Some peeps are starting to upload some nice youtube vids.  All the vids are pretty decent on this guy's channel (although the sound is only so so).  But here are my hand selected highlights.

The intro, which was sweet.

Loved the lights on this one.

This is an obvious choice, but it's a highlight because when they started this song I let out a pretty reasonable "Yeeeeeeaaaahh!" and gave a solid above the head fist pump.  The girl next to me tweeted or texted, "The guy next to me is freeeeeaking out. Hahahahaha."  I thought about calling her out but decided it would be creepy that I was reading over her shoulder.

My wife's favorite song, with a really nice crowd sing along in the middle.
http://www.youtube.com/user/RTMorasonMD#p/u/15/nWrJlaS9KPw

I sensed a little jealousy about the Revolutionary War here. They played snippets of classic American rock songs throughout their entire set.

I didn't fully appreciate this song until seeing it live.

I could post every song really.  They freaking killed it on all of them.  They finished with Knights of Cydonia.  I mean my expectations were through the roof after what I experienced in KC, and they just blew them out of the water.  Loved it.
