I'm not sure who this doompaul guy is but he should probably line up at the Ernie Barrett statue right along with whoever posted the picture of a lynching.

making fun of a state for being racist is fine. Lord knows Alabama has earned it.

making fun of a state for having a lot of Mexicans (is that what that was?) is racist and unacceptable behavior on goEMAW.com

how do you not understand the difference?

I don't see the difference because I have class.

well i understand the difference because i went to class

Which one? Acceptable Bigotry 101? That wasn't part of my BSME program.

pro-tip: satirizing the racist history of a state is not racism or bigotry

OK....... So labeling current residents of a state, who are way too young to have ever owned slaves or held a fire hose in Birmingham, as slave holding racists is ok?
Then by that thought process we could extrapolate it out to saying black people run around in leopard skins with bones in their noses is ok? Or saying that Native Americans run around scalping people and enslaving white children is fine and dandy? We can take that even farther and ridicule Italians as being Jesus killing heathens?

Sounds legit to me.

So, you're saying it's unfair to mention it, because, while racism existed in the south at one time, it has not existed in the American South for an inscrutable period of time?

Mentioning one's history and what some of your posters are doing is completely different. And you know it.

Also, I find it curious that I have seen far more racism in locations north of the Mason Dixon than I do in the south is ironic.

And what, exactly, do you mean by "my" posters, anyway?  :curse:

look man, we get it. the "alabama is racist" stuff hits too close to home, and it struck a chord with you.

what i'm most concerned about is that you honest to god cannot tell the difference between these two things:

satire of racism

racist joke

i mean, what's next, listening to Tool and calling it Chevelle?

I understand the difference, but have yet to see any satire.

And who are Tool and Chevelle? I stopped listening to new music when S.R. Vaughan died.

Despite what you may have been led to believe, Tarzan movies did not present an accurate depiction of precolonial Africa.

But that would be satirical, at least according to what I am being told here. That would make it ok.

Seriously, though, what is up with the Alabama state flag? It looks like a white flag of surrender with a big red X going over the top of it. It's the same design as the confederate flag, minus the stars and with different colors.

Looks suspiciously like the Scotland flag.  Impending secession?

You do know that the Confederate battle flag was purposely modeled after the Saint Andrew's Cross, right?
