=MODS=,

There have been a number of posts in this thread that are arguably legit cases of horsing around, and several are indisputably full of horsing around (like a full ten out of ten horses around).

Partway true, That was a one point safety in favor of Oregon though, after they scored a TD. For there to be exactly 1 point scored the team being shut out has to cause a safety to occur in the opposite endzone as the extra point happened. So, unlike Oregon where we blocked it, ran it out of that endzone and then ran back in for the safety. We'd have to either block the extra point so hard it travels almost 110 yards out of the back of the other endzone, or it be like a cal-stanford in reverse and tackle their guy in the endzone, or the holder takes the snap and bolts all the way the other direction and gets himself tackled or runs out of the endzone. Regardless of the means, if that crazy crap ever happened it would happen to us  :crossfingers:

I thought we were going for an extra point. Kicked it. They recovered then we stole it back but got tackled in the endzone or something like that giving them a 1 point safety or something like that. Don't recall it exactly, but remember there being a 1 point safety.

THIS is why gE is the BEST! You can't get this kind of in-depth analysis and HFBIQ anywhere else. I stand/sit partially corrected - so the score would be 13-1 (or some variation), correct? (tbh, I was so disgusted with the Fiesta Bowl, I don't remember a whole lot about that game)

After watching their last game and noticing they have no running game to speak of other than their QB, who really needs to learn how to slide or he won't make it through the season, I kind of agree with your prediction. KSU won't score that many though - although they will make a few big plays against our secondary. To be fair though I will say that their OL impressed me in pass protection. They are very good at picking up blitzes.

I stand by my statement.

I will also expand on my prediction: KSU will easily score on their first possession, but then the AU defense will tighten up. Auburn will run the ball at will, and after a few bad passes by Marshall, AU will effectively give up on the passing game.

Play-action incompletions to keep our defense honest.

FIFY

I am being unfair to Marshall. Since last season he has vastly improved his throwing motion and footwork. He still can't complete a pass but he looks a lot better at it now.

Say, what?!?!?!?  Last year's 86th ranked defense (that has yet to be all that stout this season), that has a VERY suspect secondary, is suddenly gonna turn into the '85 Bears during their first road trip?

Further, you've yet to hold a Big12 offense under 40 points since aggy (63 in '12 & 45 in '13) and meth aggy (42 in '12) joined your shitty conference, but now you're gonna waltz into our stadium and hold an historically higher power, more effecient offense to 30 points or less?

Give me a rough ridin' break.

Well, if we held SJSU to one touchdown we are sure to do as well or better with KSU. Arkansas ran all over us in the first half but we shut them down in the second. But that was an SEC team so we could hardly hold you guys to the same lofty standard.

That play did highlight the possibility of a 1 point final score.  You are correct that it couldn't occur on a play like the one we saw at the Tostytm.  Such a play could arise IF:
Opposing team brings one in the endzone.
On the resulting play the ball is recovered live.
Your team runs the ball down to the other endzone.
Prior to picking up the two points, the opposing team recovers the ball.
Your team then forces the opposing team's runner into the EZ and he is sacked for a saftey.

X-1, Them-You

This retains the "it can't ever happen" status in official record books on forfeited games of 0-1, because it requires the other team to have at least 6.

The Cats that barely got past ISU: 24
The reigning SEC Champs: 38

i don't think you realize it barner-boy but outside of Bama and LSU, the rest of the SEC is at about Iowa State's level (barners included). these guys are about to rudely awaken yall from your miracle dream season and we'll put the final nail in the coffin on november 29

if this were true, does this mean that it would take a 4th quarter comeback for you guys to beat us? :)

I can't speak for the rest of the country outside of Texas, but the SEC-SEC-SEC obsession is even greater for them when taken out of their native area... It's almost like once they leave the geographical boundaries of the conference, there's some sort of mission requirement not unlike the mormons on the bikes.
