In their 3 games with the former middle of the pack Big12 teams that joined the SEC-SEC-SEC, they've allowed an AVERAGE of 49 points per contest.  I'd say your sources are pretty accurate.

   :emawkid:

Texas A&M and Missouri?

Well they beat both of them last season and in 2012, Texas A&M... that "middle or the road BIg 12 team" beat Oklahoma by like 4 touchdowns.

Keep on thinking that aTm is the same team that couldn't win the Big 12 if it makes you feel better.

The SEC really is that good. It doesn't guarantee Auburn beats Kansas State or any other individual game result... but the gap in talent and depth between the two conferences is large.

Look, we are trying to have a conversation about the upcoming K-State vs Auburn game.  If you want to "flame" or horse around I'd ask that you pick another thread or even a different message board.

Back in my day, K-State beat Missouri and Texas A&M before they left the division.  :gocho:

Yeah, but it was no big deal. Most of the league beat them pretty much every year.

I remember not too long ago beating A&M like 80-0 before Bill felt sorry for them and started putting a few of our fans in to play

So is the gap between Alabama/LSU and the rest of the SEC-SEC-SEC.

Outside of your myopic 10 state region, there's a reason why the rest of the CFB world thinks of the SEC-SEC-SEC as Bama/LSU and the 12 dwarfs.

Now, to disprove that, tell me about the miracle that allowed you to luck into a "championship" game vs a team coached by Gary Pinkel.

obviously saban isn't going to schedule snyder knowing he doesn't want to face him twice in one regular season game and one cfb playoff game.  so auburn, you're up.

and yes, we're going to dominate them.

Spot on - Sucks that we had to schedule the B team but hopefully it helps to prepare our guys

I think it will be interesting to see at what point Auburn just gives up. Most teams play us tough until we get up by about 30, but I'm thinking Auburn's breaking point might be closer to 20. It could get really ugly if that's the case.

If you are the athletic director at KU or Iowa State, you have to be looking at what A&M and Missouri are doing in the SEC and having some early discussions on whether you should move your football team to that conference as well.

ya, i can't wait until the 3rd quarter when the espn announcers start talking about all the problems that auburn is having with cramps and dehydration

you can set a clock to it, folks.  teams come into BSFS and the heat and humidity of kansas in the fall and their conditioning just goes out the window.  then the whining begins.

this is big boy football kiddos, welcome aboard

ISU would have taken no lower than third in the East last two seasons.

Very torn about this.  Obviously Auburn is not going to get a single "judgement call" to go their way in BSFS, which is great for us.  However, I'd hate for that to take away from our win in the eyes of the national media.

It is what it is, I guess.

A few notes on the state of Alabama's B team and the SEC as a whole:

Chizik: Was an awful coach at a bottom feeder Big 12 school.  Goes to Auburn and destroys the SEC.  Auburn: taking ISU's leftovers and still able to beat a conference because it is terrible.

Tuberville: Coaches at Auburn for like 20 years and can't hack it in the Big 12.  He won an SEC title (maybe more?) and couldn't break 7 wins in the Big 12.

SEC DPOY Sams - Best defensive player in the conference barely gets drafted and gets sent to a practice squad.  Auburn's offense puts up points because their best defensive player in the whole conference can't even make an NFL roster

This game is going to be similar to when we beat Miami a couple of years ago.  KSU by 28+

The best defensive player in the SEC was drafted first overall. The best offensive player in the SEC was drafted second overall.

Tuberville was not fired from Texas Tech. He left on his own to go to Cincy. Cincinnati was a more attractive program in a more attractive city in a more attractive conference than Texas Tech.

Remember a couple weeks ago when all the SEC-SEC-SEC teams started calling KU to schedule a game?  How does the 'hawks picking up an extra win each year affect our poking fun at them for being the suck?

I'd rather you avoid making a bunch of "he said she said" type arguments here.  Many of us are attempting to be objective and break this game down for our posters/readers.  TIA.

SEC teams not named Alabama and LSU have won 4 BCS championships. How does that compare to say, the Big 12 outside of Oklahoma and Texas?

tubberville had a 9-17 big12 conference record and was going to get fired if he didn't voluntarily leave. one of the best ever at auburn, but just another jobber punching the clock trying to get to a bowl game in a conference where everybody has to play everybody and there are no vanderbilts, kentuckys, old miss, miss states to skate through. just is what it is. always seemed like a class act though. i wish him the best.
