People keep trying to force it into architecture/construction. It doesn't work. Moving on!

it's super annoying when people here get on their Lean project kicks because 99% of the projects involve IT doing some pie in the sky bullshit for them and i'm just trying to bbs ya know?

99% shouldn't need IT help/changes.  That's just being lazy and trying to get IT to make your shitty processes slightly more efficient shitty processes.  If you need any IT help it should be taking turning stuff off, taking away fields, or combining multiple applications into one.

If your IT sees it as "pie-in-the-sky" you're wasting everyone's time.

I think everyone's just dumb and misapplying stuff.  seems like on the actual manufacturing side it's actually ok but I just see the general crap from the office workers trying to check off goals on their evaluations or whatever

Proven time and again to cost more than it saves, and to completely destroy creativity.  Your company will soon be bankrupt, Ts and Ps bro.

they only do it when sales are slow or something and they get bored (lol).  thankfully I haven't really had to deal with it for like 2 years.  isn't that crap supposed to be like a continuous process or something?  thankfully the lady never comes around anymore (fired?) so it's smooth bbs sailing for your guy tobias

yeah, continuous improvement! have to have weekly comcells and put crap on the wall to figure out what we can do better and work on pain points! sd, how is your team doing this week on this bullshit? well, we haven't paid attention to it at all and have been whipping ass so put that on a sticky note off to the side I guess.

Sounds like you guys work for companies that hired low level consultants that are consultants because they suck at actually doing it and your leadership just wants to check a box.  Big waste of money, time, and huge morale killer.  Ts & Ps.

oh man, don't think "pain points" is a term I've heard them use yet.  we have some "glass wall" reporting crap that's always like two months old.  is that a pro term or are we doing some Kroger brand stuff? (pretty sure we are)

honestly, it may have done a lot of good for us but they need to keep it at the support staff level. I think in general people doing these black belt projects get stars in their eyes and try to change the game. you aren't billy beane son.

I have a buddy who got a black belt. Started a new job and after two days he started telling me how effed up the place was and he was gonna sit down with his boss and suggest all of these changes.
I was all, "hang on a second, dumbass!" Then I told him about this really great book called The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I told him 'too seek first to understand' and then you can keep your job for longer than 3 days!
