About the running thing, I mean, have you ever tried running with your hands clasped behind you back? First of all, you look goddamn silly and secondly its not very efficient. They would have just caught him and put him right back where he was. Secondly, the psychological damage of being held captive by people how are probably going to kill you has to be massive. At that point, he had probably accepted death.

Did you guys hear Obama went golfing instead of bombing??? what kind of president does that??? I mean he totally could have remote controlled a drone from the 19th hole at least. Telecommute Mr. President!!!!

IIRC, when Nick Berg was beheaded his kidnappers did the beheading videos several times without actually doing it. They put the bag on his head, started shouting the death to America crap, then just stopped the video. When they actually beheaded him the video was similar to that but they did the final deed after the death to America stuff.

So, a Frenchman's life is worth $4.5M, and they were demanding $132M for 1 American? Greedy bastards. They want allah the money.

I know the European governments have denied paying these ransoms, but it seems pretty clear that ransoms are paid and hostages are released. How are these deals brokered? Specifically, how are the funds delivered?

Man, ksu-wildcats had a really good idea about making fun of 9/11 earlier in this thread. I mean, some might call that terribly insensitive but I glad he had the guts to take a stand about how much he really wants to do it

As a kid I thought you could just print the $. At 30 you may ask? Same thought process. Just print it. No consequences.
