I don't doubt you on your encounter with SFA alumni and their lack of knowledge of our sport programs and the going ons around here. I feel your pain happens to me all the time when I try to talk sports with a fellow SFA grad.

And thank you for the welcome I knew I would eventually get one. See I told you people from Kansas are good folk.

Little known fact: From this image was where LHCBS's famous "keep sawing wood" phrase was derived.

From everything I've gathered, SFA and KSU are pretty much sister schools

I sawed a chunk of wood in half when I was like five years old. It was pretty easy then. I bet I'd be super awesome at it now.

Kansas State’s Ryan Patterson makes history, stuns field by fishing solo to win 2012 National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship

15.Apr.2012 by Gary Mortenson

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Heading into this Sunday’s final day of National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship competition, Ryan Patterson said that he was merely “a small-town kid from Kansas living a dream.” By the end of today’s weigh-in, Patterson’s “dream” turned into one of the most stunning and improbable realities in the history of college fishing. Because his partner and brother ran into eligibility issues leading into the team event, Patterson was forced, per national championship rules, to fish the tournament completely by himself. But in the end, it didn’t matter.

Hoisting a tournament-best 18 pounds, 1 ounce on the scales during the final day of competition, Patterson managed to out-gun tournament leaders and odds-on title favorites Matt and Jordan Lee of Auburn University to walk away with the most coveted prize in all of college fishing.

I think SFA and KSU need to get together on a Friday night, watch some trashy TV, pig out on ice cream and drink some bad Chardonnay.  BFFs!

Counting Dr. Brown twice.  I don't trust this guy.

BTW, Daughter attended SFA and I have 3 co-workers from SFA, one of which was a forestry major.  Nice campus, nice people but too many from Houston and Dallas to be likened to K-Staters.

But we have a game to prepare for.

QB: #2 ZACH CONQUE 6-5; 230 (So.) taking snaps.

Did you know for the first time in almost a decade SFA will be using the TE position. We run the spread offense (Texas Tech style). Now with a new coach and a new scheme we will be going under center with two TE set formations. In the past even if it was 3rd and inches we would go with 5 wide outs and an empty back field.

It will also be the first time in awhile we have a QB that run (don't let the knee brace fool you)

Defense is all new, with this guy true freshman DE: #13 John Franklin 6-4; 255 being the star

Sorry I did put the same name down twice but those are SFA faculty members

Look for yourself. Type Kansas State into the search SFA

But he didn't go D2, he went D1 (FCS)

He was a 2X 1st team all-district (4A) player at Greenville, Texas.

6-4; 255 good size for a DE.

Lets roll the tape
