McCrane got cut.  I think he was perfect in the preseason with two 50+ yd FGs.  Would be surprised if he didn't get a shot somewhere before the season was done.

That's ridiculous, dude played great

Most people said he would but that he'd be picked up pretty quick

The coach in Houston a few years back said he was sure Klein would play for a team in the league too right after he cut him. Hopefully McCrane can find a home a little bit easier.

Yard Dog, nobody ever thought Klein would be on a 53 man roster.

I am having trouble finding the direct quote, but I thought I remembered Kubiak specifically saying he expected Klein would end up on a roster. This is the closest I could find:

Quote
I tell you what, it was impressive," Kubiak said about Klein's weekend performance. "I'm fixing to go up and have a long talk with him. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but to watch how far the guy came in two and a half days; (he) really played probably his best day out here today. He's found a way his whole career, and he's probably going to find a way this time, too.

"Like I said, we're fixing to sit down and have a good long talk, he and I, but I think this kid's going to beat the bushes and he's going to figure out a way," Kubiak said. "I'm very impressed with him."

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000168933/article/collin-klein-impresses-gary-kubiak-houston-texans

Maybe I just read into what he said and heard what I wanted to hear back then.

Pretty good coach speak for "yeah, we're going to cut him. I can't believe he's not open to switching positions."

In addition to getting this media attention he started for the 49ers leading the team in tackles and getting a sack. It will be fun to see him play against the Chiefs next week.

Cardinals signed K Matt McCrane to their practice squad.

McCrane was let go by Oakland earlier this year after converting just five of his nine field goal attempts. This could be a sign the Cardinals are preparing to be without Phil Dawson, who missed Thursday's practice with a hip injury. The Cards are hosting San Francisco (the only team they've beaten this year) on Sunday.

Word is that Jordy may retire today.  Raiders must be an absolute crap show.

I hope he gets the Raiders to cut him instead so he can join the Saints or someone decent.  Tough to tell if he doesn't have anything left or fell off due to Rodger's injury and the Carr/Gruden suckfest.

I can't wait to see the Family posts about Jordy retiring to be the next HC at KState. Intrinsic values and whatnot

Sucks that he couldn't have just been a Packer for his entire career. It's a real Jordan-With-The-Wizards thing.

Except at least Jordan averaged 22/6/4 with the Wizards. This was more like Jordan with the White Sox.

McCrane is expected to replace Phil Dawson (questionable, hip) Sunday. He'll get to face his former team after being let go by Oakland earlier this year.

I feel like a game between 1-win teams has a decently high chance of coming down to field goals.
