"I'd run out to the car and my dad would drive us to school, the whole way listening to recordings of his and Mitch's, Greg's or Wyatt's voices."  That's kind of weird.

I have the chance now to finally take a step back and reflect on my career as a Kansas State football player.

I hadn't realized he was a senior and/or done.  Looking forward to hearing him in some call-in segments on 810.

Was that a story about a kid returning from 3 tours in Afghanistan?

This value on faith and family is killing us, recruiting wise.

I think it is the only thing we are doing right, recruiting-wise. It's the general laziness of the staff that is killing us.

Pretty good for recruiting herp derp Kansans, pretty bad for recruiting players from other parts of the country that are actually good.

Oh come on. That isn't true at all. No recruit is crossing KSU off their list because of #family.

If I was a recruit and wanted family, I would stay home.   If not,  I would want playing time, a good coach,   impermissible benefits, and hot chicks.

You can tell #Family is a great idea because other schools (particularly Baylor) have been trying to use it in their recruiting, too.

But Baylor also uses impermssible bennys in conjunction

That's a nice story and all, but sorry . . .  maybe I'm just jaded because of all the nepotism and marketing slogans over actual wins . . . but I read that garbage and all I see is just a kid who grew up in the cushy burbs of KC (full disclosure, so did I, albeit in the much older area of OP, not beige McMansion World) with a dad who is inextricably joined at the hip with K-State getting to be on the team.

As I told a friend during football season, at what level are we at when Stanton Weber ever see's the field at K-State in any capacity besides team manager or water guy??

TBO Stanton was a pretty decent special teams player. You need kids like that to play ST so the starters don't have to go and get extra sketti brain'd covering kicks. Now i would be fully on board with the WTF does Snyder have a god damn scholarship rant. That guy sucked ball(s).

1. Quoted for posterity
2. I think this may be the absolute root of Dax hate for K-State/Royals/Chiefs etc
3. Obtaining this knowledge is very enlightening going forward
