red card mean player is gone and you play with a man down 2 yellows and you can't play in the next match

ah ok - so this is the "accumulation" rule.  so if you pick up 2 yellow cards at any point across the group stages + round of 16 games, you have to sit out the subsequent game.  your card count resets back to zero at the quarterfinal round (so if you picked up a yellow card in the group stage, that gets reset and you won't have to sit out the semifinals if you pick up a yellow card in the quarterfinal game)

and you would still just have one yellow card in the current game, so there would be no red card shown/no ejection w/o sub

1950 i think. maybe 1930. i forget exactly.
