Serious question though. How many games went to the full 90 tied 0-0, and how many games were decided by PKs? PKs are exciting, no doubt, but it's like deciding a basketball game with a three point shooting contest

just a matter of risk when you get to the late stages usually. this hasn't really been your standard "0-0 game", there's just been some poor finishing

That's small, but if this one joins it, that is still 20%. And if this one goes it will be 33% of the WC knockout games ending in PKs. And the MLS final. Just seems like a silly way to end a game.

It is a silly way to end a game. No one has come up with a realistic better way though. At least it provides awesome drama.
