it usually ends up being like early round NCAA games, only that "pulling away" ends up meaning finally exerting their will while the other team hunkers down and thinks they can make it to a draw (lots of times means the worse team gives up two late goals - the initial one that breaks them and then a second when they all of a sudden leave themselves open trying to suddenly learn how to be offensive)
