Kansas people who make fun of the pool system and how the US lost and made the 16 are ridiculous, especially if they follow high school football, because we use a nearly identical pool system to get into the playoffs.

I would let my friend from England know that now that the USA is better at soccer than they are, they should just focus on cricket because once the USA is better than you are at something, they will never be worse than you are ever again. England isn't going to win a world cup in a million years now.

my favorite part is where the goalie kicks the absolute crap out of the ball it and goes like all the way to the other side of the field. i point at the tv screen and remark about it every time.

This is an astute observation. Plenty of countries are better at stuff than us, but we never get better than a given country at something and then they get better at it than is again. We either whip ass, or get out ass whipped and move on.

The best athletes in America play football or basketball. Every athlete left plays baseball. So you round up anyone else with an ounce of athleticism from the group left after that, put them on a soccer team, and they're one of the best teams in the world. America is amazing.

The best athletes in America are male gymnasts and you know it. When the USA needed a missile defense system in Parmestan they sure as crap didn't send in a football player.
