Apollo is the best character in the whole franchise and they kill him in IV. IV would be the worst if they had never came out with those two pieces of trash that followed it. I'm in 33's camp, they shouldn't be considered Rocky movies, but they're part of the franchise. Just like those terrible prequels are part of the Star Wars franchise.

Maybe I would like IV better if the Cold War had been a thing when I was growing up. By the time I watched the movies it was long past and I thought the whole premise was a joke. I tend to be turned off by things that are so heavily nationalistic, unless it's done satirically. Maybe I should start pretending that Rocky IV is satire, but then there's still the whole Apollo thing to get past.
