We've always had a back produce under Snyder. Name the last one that didn't? I'm not concerned about this.

Under seems more likely to me, and I'm usually pretty optimistic about football. Lots of new faces and a few tough games on the schedule.

Guys we're not going to be able to run the ball.
Why?  Because we have inexperienced running backs?

If Jake can pass like he's supposed to then the "box" should be pretty loose.  Couple that with our stud oline and we could be pretty well balanced.

This. If the line does it's job, we should be able to run the ball. The inexperience at RB factor is garbage.

Yep. inexperience here doesn't matter. Would we prefer to have more experience returning? Of course, but it doesn't matter.

We still had a productive back that season tho. Invalid point.

Not really. Nobody thought Hubert as a Freshman could carry the load. Klein helped in that manner, but still.

I remember Darren Sproles having a rough 2004, but maybe he was better than I remember and my view is based more upon that team being so terrible.

I think it should be pretty obvious that Darren was not the problem.

No, he certainly wasn't. It was mostly the awful QBs and defense. Hubert wasn't as good last year as he was with Klein, though. Maybe the run game in Snyder's offense just doesn't work as well with a pocket passer unless the RB is a beast like Daniel Thomas.

I expect our run game to be very serviceable.  The backs we currently have in the system are very comparable to JJ Smith, Hickson, Lawrence, etc from the days of May & Kavanaugh.

As long as our OL plays to a level somewhere near their capabilities, we should be able to keep the defenses honest with the balanced attack Coach desires.

The 2013 stats are heavily influenced by the monster game he had against Kansas. I had forgotten how he kind of fell off the end of the earth at the end of 2012, though.

Every running back has their stats influenced by a few games. That's not fair. He was a very solid back. Especially for what he was.

Here's what he did each game last year:

             CAR    YDS
NDSU(L):  10       23
ULL(W):     18       56
UMASS(W): 18      118
TEX(L):    12       41
OSU(L):   7       30
BAY(L): 15       90
WVU(W):  19       86
ISU(W):     15       105
TTU(W): 23      157
TCU(W):    6       25
OU(L):   9         17
KU(W):   30       220
MICH(W): 15       90

While the Sam-Waters flip-flopping and TT and Lockett hurt affected the offense, it is noticeable at least to the me, the better Hubert did, the better the team did.

8-5 if we're lucky.  You dumbasses have way too much confidence in a QB that would rather be in Ames
