You guys wanna know something else? I love the rentals. In fact, post 1998 The Rentals have made better music than Weezer.

Surf one is the only song I can't instantly think of how it goes.
You take your car to work
I'll take my board
And when you're out of fuel
I'm still afloat
Take it to the alternate fuels thread.  ;)

Let's go on a spirit journey to visit Moscow, Idaho and take in a Vandals game with the Blue Album and LaGF on repeat.

Quote
6. Brian Bell doesn’t actually play a note of guitar on the Blue Album.
Despite being credited as guitarist in the Blue Album’s liner notes, Bell’s only real contributions to the album were his re-recorded versions of Jason Cropper’s backing vocals. It was decided there wasn’t enough time for Bell to lay down guitar tracks, so as the legend goes, Cuomo flawlessly laid down all of Cropper’s parts in one all-day marathon session. Bell’s recorded debut with Weezer came on the single to “Undone” the following summer, as he played guitar on fan-favorite B-sides “Susanne” and “Mykel & Carli.”

Every. Time.

(not actually trying to start a discussion on the fall of weezer. Just re-read the Grantland article and was lamenting.)

Ignoring this, to share a great Matt Sharp quote:

"The one thing that is really consistent with me being on the road is that people come up to me and say, 'By the way, the last two Weezer records really sucked,' and they're always saying it to get in good with me. And I haven't heard them. But if they were bad, they'd probably be just as bad if I was there."

TBT Memzy/Fanning brag: 6th-grade WSBs went to Streetside at 91st and Metcalf to get the Blue album as soon as he heard "Undone" on 105.9 the Lazer for the first time. They didn't have it, and staff hadn't heard of it, but they ordered it on cassette for me. Still have it.

Has this thread been here long enough for us to reopen the pinkerton v blue debate?

Green album had island in the sun.  that's a really good song.  i mostly like it because of the movie out cold.
