window seat question

he is 6-foot-2 (taller) and sits campfire style, with his knees contorted in a way that it somehow doesn't enter into my space or his wife's.

Extends his legs slightly under seat in front and crosses them at the ankle.  Allows you to poke the knees sideways and yet keep them in your own hula hoop.  Not fully comfy, but better than riding with both knees jammed into the seat ahead of you dreading the eventual forthcoming seat recline (also increds rude when taller person is behind you, btw).

Well, it isn't tall enough to be a rough ridin' crybaby about flying economy. (I know CNS wasn't being a crybaby and is legitimately tall)

6'4". I always go isle and pray that the person in front of me doesn't move around alot, since I put my head on the back of their seat to sleep. I never sleep for more than about 20 minutes at a time, but that is a good position for me. Also, I don't have one of those tray table triangle pillow deals, so don't post a picture of that stupid thing.

problem with aisles is I always get bumped, and there's the problem of people inside having to go to the bathroom. (this obviously presents quite a dilemma for for small bladdered broad shouldered people like me)

if i'm in window, i usually start with the shade about 2/3 down. just enough to see what you're doing but not enough to keep somebody from sleeping. if the person next to me is clearly trying to sleep i close it. but i normally enjoy just a little bit of natural light

I generally leave the window all the way open. It really doesn't matter to me at all, though. People really care about this stuff?

I like to trick my body into thinking we're upside down about to crash but then look outside and see we're normal.  What a rush.  Really makes me feel alive.

I've never had someone actually ask me to open or close the window, but I always assume people would like it open on takeoff and landing so I open it anyways. You must look like a nice person to have someone actually ask you to open it and think you will comply. Once you're at cruising altitude, it's definitely your decision on window status.

i can't even imagine how horrible of a person you have to be to request that the window be left up during a flight. down i can somewhat understand because maybe the person is scared or has a migraine or a bunch of other reasons, but up? wow. just wow.

NO! Everyone should be trying to book the window first, then the middle seat, aisle seat is a last resort. Also, those exit row seats suck. Never book them.

not only does the aisle have the option to stretch out a little bit but you don't have to ask people to get up if you need to pee and you get to get off the plane that much quicker. now that doesn't mean you have the right to stand up if youre 15 rows back as soon as the doors open, but you can certainly if you want to. everyone else does.
